Brooklyn’s very own Warehouse Museum of Pop Photographica, “where photography meets popular culture,” is now open by appointment. The museum is located in a Gothic revival warehouse in Prospect Heights. Two friendly attendants greet visitors in a roomy plant-filled lobby and original bank vault. The Reilly Family's hand-painted coat of arms is visible on a far wall.

The museum features hundreds of decorative and functional 3-dimensional objects from Daile Kaplan’s widely-exhibited photographic collection. A range of antique and contemporary articles  -- jewelry, lamps, souvenirs, porcelain, family memorabilia, and unique assemblages -- highlighted with images are juxtaposed thematically on open shelves. The objects were created by well-recognized classical photographers (Ansel Adams), popular artists (Robert Mapplethorpe, Jeff Koons), and a host of creative homemakers, hobbyists and artisans. The museum offers a fun, new experience of photography for folks of all ages.
