"Pop Photographica, Photography’s Objects in Everyday Life 1842-1969"

Since the invention of the daguerreotype in 1839, photographic images have found enterprising applications. They were incorporated into three-dimensional objects such as gold watches, brooches, walking sticks, clocks and other specialty goods that included photographs as reminders of significant events. These inventive objects bring new insight to the subject and how the impact of photography plays with the aura of the image in our collective cultural experience.
